Which festival do you like best? Why?

Encourage the pupils to talk about the festivals they knew before.

  • What festival is coming soon?(Mid-Autumn Festival)
  • What do you do at Mid-Autumn Festival?

 We eat moon cakes/ watch the moon.

  • Work in pairs: Look at the picture on Part A then ask and answer in pairs.
  • Those who are volunteers please come up and do some dialogue

  • Copy the phrases on P7 for 4 times

Step3:Presentation

  • When is Christmas? It’s in spring.

                      It’s on the twenty-fifth of December.

(We say dates like this_ the twenty-fifth of December)

(We write dates like this_ 25th December)

  • Teach the names of different school events using our school calendar.

(Print a school calendar to every pupil.)to introduce the names of different school events: the School fair / Open Day / Parents’ Day/ Sports Day /

  • Play a game to revise the months of the year. Prepare twelve cards, each with the name of a month written on it. Shuffle the cards and put them on the board.

Do you remember the twelve months of the year? Can anyone put the months in the correct order?

  • Teach the When question to ask about dates.

T: When is our school outing? In what month do we have our school outing?

P: In November.

5. Introduce first to thirty-first using the chart of ordinal numbers or the list on page 14 of the Pupil’s Book. Point out any difficult numbers.

Step 4: Practice

  •  Write the question and answer on the board. Then write lots of dates on the board for practice. Go round the class getting pupils to say the dates.

Step 5: Homework

  • Listen and read Ch3
  • Copy first, second, third, fourth, fifth, ninth, eleventh, twelfth, twentieth

  • Read the story together then role play the story in groups
  • Encourage those who act well to come up and role play the story.

Step 3 Practice

1. Look at Part D and try to make a dialogue with the story.

2. Go around the classroom to see if they can do it well. Praise who did well.

Step 4 Homework

  • Read and listen Chapter 3
  • Grammar

 

LESSON 9

  • Tell pupils that children are playing a feeler game.

Look at the picture. What game are the children playing?

Yes, the ‘Superfeeler Game’. Do you know what it is? There are different things in the boxes. The children have to blindfold their eyes. They can only feel the things and guess  what they are.

  • Give pupils a few minutes to do the matching on their own.
  • In groups of five, pupils act the people. They talk about the texture of the objects and guess what the objects are. Go round the class checking their understanding.
  • Check pupils’ answers to Part E.

  • Grammar.

LESSON 10

  • Play the CD, let the pupils follow it.
  • Play the CD again, to see who can say the poem well.
  • Read out the poem and tell pupils to listen carefully. Explain any words or expressions which pupils may find difficult to understand.
  • Pupils read the lines of the poem after me. Try to ensure the chanting does not become too slow or expressionless.
  • Check the grammar exercises with the kids.

  •  Start by teaching the concept of texture. Ask individual pupils to come up and feel different things.

What does this feel like? Is it soft? Yes, it is.

 My hair is soft. The cushion is soft.

To lead in the word ‘soft’.

Is it rough? Yes, My jacket is rough. The bag is rough.

To lead in the word ‘rough’.

It’s hard. The desk is hard. The walls are hard.

The window is hard. To lead in the word ‘hard’.

It’s smooth. The book is smooth. The window is smooth.

The desk is smooth. To lead in the word ‘smooth’.

  • Keep asking questions about the texture of the objects. Write the texture on the board.

What is rough? A stone is rough. Very good. (a stone)

Anything else? Can you show me something hard/soft?

The same way to lead in the words: a marble, an armchair, a cushion.

Step 4. Homework

  • Listen and read Chapter5
  • Copy the words on Page 25 for four times.

LESSON 12

  •  Read Chapter 5. Show the pupils the sentences on Page26.
  • Ask pupils to talk about the things and try to finish the sentences.
  • Write something about the words: stones, a rabbit, a dog.
  • Check the answers with the pupils.

LESSON 13

  Talk something about your birthday

When is your birthday?

Step2:Presentation

  • Read the story together then role play the story in groups
  • Encourage those who act well to come up and role play the story. Encourage the pupils to say what they can say in English, not only follow the story. We can invite three or more groups to come up and those who did well will get a sticker.

Step 3 Practice

1.Do some exercises and check the answers with the pupils.

Step 4 Homework

  • Read and listen Chapter 3
  • Write some sentences on Page18

LESSON 14

Step 1. Greetings

Step 2. Revise:

1. Ask individual pupil to come up and write the months of the year, the days of a week and ordinal numbers

(from first to thirty-first) on the board.

2.Encourage more able pupils to come up and write.

Step 3 Presentation

  • Dictation: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, twelfth, thirteenth, twentieth, twenty-first, thirtieth, Speech Day, Parents’ Day, the school picnic, the school fair…
  • Check the answers with the pupils.

LESSON 15

Step 3 Presentation

  • Ask pupils questions about what they do in different places.

What do you do every day after school?

What do you like doing after school?

Do you like palying football?

Do you like watching TV?

  • Go round the class asking questions using like + -ing. Write the question on the board.

What do you like doing at home?

Can anyone say one thing they like doing at home? Tell me one thing.

  • Demonstrate the change in the action words.

Play football- John likes playing football.

Help my mother – Mary likes helping her mother.

Watch TV – Sam likes watching TV.

  • Now ask pupils what they do not like doing.

 What don’t you like doing at home?

 Do you like doing homework?

 Do you like washing dishes?

Do you like looking after your brother?

LESSON 16

Step1: Greeting.

Step 2. Revision

Step 3. Presentation

 1. Look at the screem  then ask pupils questions using like + -ing.

 What do you like doing at the beech, Charlie?

What do you like doing at the beach,Tom/Sally/Peter/Betty?

  • Ask pupils to work in pairs.
  • Ask individal pupil to come up and ask and answer the above questions

Encourage pupils open their mouth and speak out.

Step 4. Homework

  •  Listen and read.
  • Grammar.
